The Faith I Have in You

This feeling in my heart is not always a good one.

Good times come and go just like a thousand yesterdays.

Friendships seem to struggle like a new born baby.

Thoughts get blown around just like the trees down by the bay.

Chorus

But the faith I have in you is like the gum trees on the mountains.

The rocks down by the river that won’t be washed away.

Like the sunlight that’s reflected on the water in the evening.

The green grass on the hillside of a brand new winter’s day.

There’s times I felt like crying, times I felt like dying,

Times when there was no one there to lend a helping hand;

But Jesus came and found me like the shepherd in the story.

He’ll take me his arms until we reach the promised land.

Chorus

But the faith I have in you is like the gum trees on the mountains.

The rocks down by the river that won’t be washed away.

Like the sunlight that’s reflected on the water in the evening.

The green grass on the hillside of a brand new winter’s day.

I remember a few years ago, thought I was going crazy.

The only love that I could find had died and slipped away.

But the peace now in my heart is like a river that’s kept flowing.

It’s deeper and wider with the passing of each day.

Chorus

But the faith I have in you is like the gum trees on the mountains.

The rocks down by the river that won’t be washed away.

Like the sunlight that’s reflected on the water in the evening.

The green grass on the hillside of a brand new winter’s day.
